Sucess Story from my experience
Posted by Devang Shah on July 23rd, 2008
What is the key to success? Does it really exist? Is there any short cut to it? Not really. But there are certain ways by which you can reach there easily. It might take sometime, as there is not shortcut here. This is what I can say from experiences.
Now let me come to the point before it takes shape like a marketing speech. As I do have any product to sell you!!
Success comes only when you have clear vision and plans. Unless you know where you want to go, you will not be able to go there (there is not defined here). And why you want to go is equally important. Passion for reaching target and daily visioning the same is key. Well, you can even say it like Day Dreaming.
Now let me point out my real life experience here. I was pretty much well build or in shape till my school days. College days were ok kind of. And once I joined the job and started onsite(s) then slowly-slowly I have started putting on weight. Star hotel’s free breakfast played a worst part here during onsite. A request to all IT professional – be careful from free breakfast.
It was not the case that I was not aware of my weight. I knew that my weight will be more .I never liked to stand on the scale. You can say that I was really afraid of the NUMBER. But just by ignorance one can not escape from the reality.
And then on one fine day at Hyderabad I decided from my heart that I want to reduce my weight badly. I had told to my friends couple of times the same things and each time I had give up after a week or may be two. (The reason might be that decision was taken under the influence of someone’s talk to me.) When I said them this time. Couple of my friends told “Tere se nahi honga” ..:Ye tere bas ki baat nahi hai…”
And honestly I took that as a challenge. I like people who challenge me.
And after almost 4-5 months workout and diet. I lost 42 pounds; I was very lazy for waking up early ; even I got surprised, I had able to manage to wake up by 5:30 AM without alarm J.(perhaps my soul was supporting me)
I came back again to the shape of my school days. It really feels good-great. I do not have words to explain. During those 5 months I was daily measuring my weight. Believe me I had a calendar where I was putting my daily weight. I had continuous eye on my weight , food and exercises. Three keys to achieve my goal. Passion makes you to do this and this is success factor.
Well VLCC, La Fitness etc will show you starts ,, moon and nice sky. But ultimately you are the one who has to put the effort. You must motivate yourself. Self motivation!!!.
Again reaching the target you can not become lazy. Reaching on TOP is important but staying there is more important. You should be able to see another top from top. So being in IT a humble suggestion: For wealth please do not put your health at Risk.
Eat well..Code well …and exercises well

Just kidding. I totally agree that once u take on things seriusoly and decide to do it you execute to the desired destiantion .
Keep that sprit alive in your self no matter whatever condtion you are. But the only fact i would disagree is that after onsite you put on wait dear i remeber the jubilee hills day you had enough of weight that time also
